world wide web. The development of mobile technologies poses a certain challenge to education.
Due to the current situation, the teacher is required to use mobile devices for training as much as possible. When drawing up the educational process, to optimize it, teachers often try to prohibit, and sometimes even punish students for using mobile phones during classes. We need to look at this problem from a different perspective and consider the mobile device as an effective way of learning.
Mobile learning (mLearning) is an activity that is performed regularly using smartphones and technologies. Technology allows students to become more productive, to receive or create information when communicating. Mobile learning makes it possible to receive or provide information in any format on each student's mobile devices.[2]
mLearning has been used for a long time. Already with the appearance of the first mobile phones, and this is the beginning of the 90s of the last century, foreign teachers began to talk about their educational resources. Since 2002, the first international conferences have been held to discuss the use of mobile devices in teaching. In Russia, mobile technologies have been used only in the last few years. However, almost all teachers who are active supporters of mobile learning agree that the main task of mLearning is its ability not only to improve distance and mixed learning, but also to make traditional learning more effective, while preserving all the principles.
Also, mobile learning allows you to use the educational material at any time, students are given the opportunity to independently study the missed material, while the purchase of a personal computer is not required (just a smartphone or tablet) and paper educational literature, i.e. does not require extra money. Educational materials can be easily exchanged between users using modern wireless technologies: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, mobile Internet. Mobile learning uses multimedia content, meaning that information is given in various forms: audio, text, and graphic. The material is better absorbed and remembered, and the interest in learning increases. The group of students becomes animated, there is motivation to work, the quality of learning increases.
I use applications such as Blogger and the Internet service Google Drive in my computer science classes. The mobile version of the Blogger app, in contrast to the computer version, looks more convenient. You can post messages in the app, edit and customize messages, attach photos and images, and students can leave their comments under the post. If necessary, the student can always open the web version and perform additional actions. Blogger has a number of features: accessibility, interactivity, and the ability to share educational information. Students are very interested in completing their homework, which I post immediately after class, and actively participate in the discussion of the task. You can control the deadlines in the app.
The Google Drive app is a "cloud" storage of files in various formats. For example, you can convert Word, Excel, or PowerPoint presentations to and from Google Documents. The mobile phone memory is not overloaded with files, the necessary files are always at hand for the student, even without an Internet connection. With the help of Google Drive, students perform joint project work, complete tasks from practical work at home, and pass test tasks.they do not need to be tied to a computer or laptop, they just need to have a smartphone.
Thus, we can identify the main positive characteristics of mobile learning:
1) mobile learning is a person-oriented, situational process that takes place at a convenient time and place;
2) mobile learning is an innovative process in the education system;
3) mobile learning is an educational and cognitive activity that requires conscious effort: students should actively engage in the process of mobile learning;
4) the difference between mobile learning is the orientation to active and conscious independent work of students;
5) the use of mobile technologies in the educational process should be based on a systematic approach, ensure the implementation of certain didactic tasks and goals, and generally make the educational process more intensive.
Mobile technologies are a powerful and often undervalued tool that can take education to a new level.
