MEDICAL TOURISM IN THE VOLGOGRAD REGION (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE SANATORIUM "KACHALINSKY")
Summary
Incoming and internal tourism in Russia has the richest potential and now it is in the stage of growth and development. Today the Volgograd Region and especially its health resorts represent a great interest for citizens as well as for foreign guests.

Medical tourism has become the issue in many scientific works of Russian and foreign researches today [3; 4].
The Ministry of health of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of foreign Affairs, the Federal tourism Agency and the Russian Association of medical tourism (RAMT) began developing a project to promote the services of Russian doctors and medical institutions abroad. According to the Deputy Head of the Federal tourism Agency, Sergey Korneev, incoming medical tourism and sanatorium-resort complexes are actively promoted [7].
In recent years there has been a noticeable increase in the number of coming foreigners to get treatment in Russia. According to the data of the Russian Association of medical tourism [9], for the first half of 2016 the number of patients who came for treatment in Russia has grown by about 30% in comparison with the same period in 2015
[7].
Foreign tourists going to visit Russia can get familiar with its natural and ethnographic sites. As for the territory of the Volgograd Region, we can name many interesting and unique places [2], and one of them, for example the Kachalinsky Cossack village (stanitsa), situated in the Ilovlinsky district of the Volgograd region. The Ilovlinsky district is famous for the Kachalinsky sanatorium, located 3 km southwest of the Kachalino railway station in the flood-lands and in the terrace of the River Don. The area of the sanatorium covers about 100 hectares. It is situated in a picturesque part of the Don valley, in the first flood-lands terrace. The sanatorium borders the Donskoy natural park. The total area of the health resort is 200 hectares [8].
Medical tourists are offered numerous medical services in the Kachalinsky sanatorium. This sanatorium is particular for the treatment of cardiovascular system diseases, as well as for the metabolism normalization. The Kachalinsky sanatorium is specialized in Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Gastroenterology, Pulmonology, Traumatology and Orthopedics, Surgery. There are Ultrasound units, units for Electrocardiography (ECG), Bicycle ergometry, clinical and chemical researches, paraffin treatment. Such medical procedures as electric sleep, electrophoresis of drugs, ultrasound, d-Arsonval, diadynamic currents, amplipulse, laser therapy, magnetic therapy, aromatherapy, medical ionization are carried out in the unit of electric phototherapy. Oxygen cocktails, herbal tea, inhalations, manual massage, apparatus massage, dry carbon dioxide baths, auto training, physical therapy are also offered for medical tourists here. A tourist can take such baths as: natural pearl, mint, eucalyptus, pine, underwater shower-massage, gynecological irrigation, as well as mineral baths with a high content of bromine and hydrogen sulfide in the hydropathical establishment. for the external application in the treatment of the cardiovascular system diseases, musculoskeletal system diseases, central and peripheral nervous system diseases, skin diseases, metabolism. Besides hydrogen sulfide water is used for the internal application in the treatment of chronic digestive system diseases and metabolic disorders, diseases of kidneys, urinary tract and skin. Chloride-bromine water is recommended for the external application in the treatment of chronic musculoskeletal system diseases, skin, gynecological diseases, metabolism disorders. The internal application of water is applicable for the treatment of chronic gastritis, colitis, enterocolitis, diseases of a liver and bile passages diseases, pancreatitis, metabolic disorders. Besides treatment, medical tourists are offered horseback riding and horseback riding lessons here [6].
Historical exhibitions are organized for the inhabitants of the medical and health institution "Kachalinsky" in addition to various medical procedures. Foreign tourists, who are interested in Russian history, ethnical culture and Cossacks history, may get treatment here as well as visit a local history museum of the village sanatorium. In general, the village Kachalino is associated with many important historical facts: beginning with Sarmatian lived in these areas in the 2nd century till the tradition of the Siberian conqueror Yermak's birth in Kachalino. Yermak was elected as the ataman of this town. Many these facts are reflected in the documents of the museum at the sanatorium "Kachalinsky" [10]. Museum exhibits can tell foreign enthusiastic amateurs of Don Cossack history about the local culture and the way of life [1; 5]. Tourists can also learn about the 4th Cossack regiment of the Russian army, which was stationed in the village in the early 19th century, about the history of the Great Patriotic War, and even about the local flora and fauna.
