MATERIALS ON THE SPIDERS OF THE GENUS HAPLODRASSUS (ARANEI, GNAPHOSIDAE)

FROM SOUTH SIBERIA

Materials on the eight Haplodrassus species are presented from the five areas of South Siberia (Tuva, Irkutsk Area, Buryatia, Chita Area, Amurskaya Area,): H.cognatus (Westr.), H.hiemalis (Em.), H.moderatus (Kulcz.), H.pugnans (Sim.), H.signifer (C.L.K.), H.soerenseni (Str.), H.taepaikensis Paik, Haplodrassus.sp. Unknown male of H.taepaikensis is described, it is a new species for (he fauna of Russia. Species H.dalmatensis (L.Koch), H.silvestris (Blackw.), H.umbratilis (L.Koch) are excluded from the list ofregional fauna as misidentifications.

Twelve species of the spider genus Haplodrassus have been known to occur in Siberia [Mikhailov, 1997; Logunov et al., 1998; Marusik et al., 2000]. The present paper is devoted to the new faunistic data on the Haplodrassus species from five areas of South Siberia: Tuva, Irkutsk Area, Buryatia, Chita Area, Amurskaya Area. Eight species of the genus have been known to occur in this territory; H.cognatus (Westring, 1861,), H.hiemalis (Emerton, 1909), H.moderatus (Kulczynski in Chizer et Kulczynski, 1879), H.pugnans (Simon, 1880), H.signifer (C.L.Koch, 1839), H.soerenseni (Strand, 1900), Haplodrassus sp. from Tuva [Azheganova, Stenchenko, 1977; Ovtsharenko, 1982; Ovtsharenko, Marusik, 1988; Izmailova, 1977, 1989; Danilov, Kurtova, 1991; Danilov, 1995; Marusik, Logunov, 1995; Logunov et al., 1998; Marusik et al., 2000]. Here are presented new faunistic records of the eight Haplodrassus species. Unknown male of H.taepaikensis Paik, 1992 is described, it is a first record of the species in Russia, Species H.dalmatensis (L.Koch, 1866), H.silvestris (Blackwall, 1833) and H.umbratilis (L.Koch, 1866) wich have been recorded by Maria Izmailova [1989] are excluded from the list of regional fauna as misidentifications. Reexamination of Izmailova's collection have revealed that material on the «H.dalmatensis» belongs to H.moderatus (Kulczynski, 1897),

«H.silvestris» - to H.hiemalis (Emerton, 1909) and «H.umbratilis» - to H.soerenseni (Strand, 1900).

Material has been deposited in the collections of the Zoological Museum of the Moscow State University, Moscow (ZMMU), Institute for Systematics and Ecology of Enimals, Novosibirsk (1SEA), Department of Invertebrate Zoology of Irkutsk State University, Irkutsk (IU), Institute of General and Experimental Biology, Ulan-Ude (IGEB), Institute of Biological Problems of the North, Magadan (IBPN).
