Our country has seen a lot of good and bad. The great Patriotic war was the most terrible war in the world. In my opinion, the Great Patriotic war occupies the most important and bitter place in the history of Russia. It's hard to find a family that hasn't lost someone in this bloody war. There was no family in which no one was killed, injured or missing, which did not suffer severe torment and suffering; no family that did not lose their home or property. Vast territories of the country were occupied, thousands of cities and villages were destroyed, and architectural, artistic and historical values were damaged.

My family also has the indelible scars of war: my great- grandfather died in battle, leaving three small children orphaned, including my grandfather. My other grandfather went to the front in 1941 and almost reached Berlin. That is why the war remains an integral part of the historical memory of Russia, despite the fact that many decades have passed since the end of the war, and there has been a change of generations.

The memory of the great Patriotic war is still alive because this war was part of the Second world war (1939-( 151 )-

1945), in which dozens of countries on all continents participated. The second world war went far beyond all previous wars and conflicts in its scope and consequences. In the course of this war, entire peoples were exterminated, and for the first time in history, terrible means of mass destruction of people were used, such as gas chambers, also known as "death factories". People sacrificed their lives to save the country from external invasion, to save their comrades and families.

The great Patriotic war was one of the most tragic periods in the history of Russia and other republics that were part of the USSR. The most difficult and terrible tests fell to their lot. All Soviet people stood up for their country. They understood that this was a matter of life and death, a question of whether the Soviet people would remain free or become a slave to Nazi Germany.

The number of the red army grew every day. In factories, women, teenagers and the elderly took the places of those who went to the front." "Everything for the front, everything for victory" - this call became the motto of the entire USSR. Workers often didn't 't go home after their shift was over. People were deeply convinced that they would win, and did everything to speed up the victory. Millions of Soviet patriots showed unparalleled bravery at the front and in the rear.

The Soviet partisans did not give the enemy troops a moment's respite. At the direction of the CPSU and the Soviet government, partisan detachments were formed in the first months of the war in all the territories occupied by the Nazis. Soviet partisans who remained behind enemy lines helped the red Army fight the invaders. The actions of Soviet partisans and underground groups caused great damage to the enemy. At the same time, they gave hope to people in the occupied territories and inspired them with confidence in the final victory of the red Army. During the great Patriotic war, more than 6,200 partisan detachments and underground groups operated behind enemy lines. More than a million partisans and underground workers-people of all nationalities of the USSR-fought in the ranks of these Patriotic forces.

The whole world knows about the steadfastness of Soviet soldiers in the days of the heroic defense of Moscow, Smolensk, Kursk, and Leningrad. The Nazi leaders attached great importance to the capture of the Soviet capital, believing that its fall would break the resistance of the red Army and ensure German victory in the war. In defensive operations, the Red army selflessly fought for every inch of Soviet land, exhausted and drained the enemy of blood. Great strength of spirit and courage marked the actions of our soldiers in the battles on the Volga. The huge German army was driving toward Stalingrad. A fierce and bloody struggle was going on for every meter of land, for every house. But even in these difficult conditions, the red army survived and won, first of all, because there was a cohesive fighting team, there was an idea. It was the idea of "the Enemy will be defeated and victory will be ours" that United the warriors. The slogan " Not a step back!" for all soldiers and officers, it has become a necessity, a reason for existence. The courage of our soldiers and their belief in the invincibility of the Motherland helped them win the victory.

Seventy- five years ago, on May 9, 1945, the last salvos of the great Patriotic war died out. For me, Victory Day is the most important day of the year. This is really a holiday that we celebrate with tears in our eyes. The war showed the depth, steadfastness and unity of the Soviet people. In the bloody battles for the country, our people, selflessly devoted to their Homeland, ready to make any sacrifices and hardships for the sake of the prosperity of the Fatherland, showed their spiritual strength in all its greatness.

The USSR accounts for more than half of the human losses in Europe. The war claimed the lives of millions of Soviet people, and tens of millions were wounded and taken to Nazi camps. At the cost of huge efforts, the Soviet people defended their freedom and independence, and saved humanity from fascism.

The victory in the war was also achieved thanks to the high rise of Patriotic feelings, the heroism of the soldiers and workers of the country. We must honor the memory of our soldiers, officers and generals, as well as people who worked in the rear and created weapons and things necessary for the front. We must remember the exploits of the partisans and the hard work of the medics who carried the wounded from the battlefields. We must not forget those people, our ancestors, who rebuilt destroyed countries and cities after the war. And I believe that the main task of our generation is to preserve this memory and love for the Motherland, to prevent the repetition of these terrible events, a new war.
