The article discusses cases of the spread of computer viruses, as well as increased distribution statistics during a pandemic.

Computer viruses are one of the varieties of computer vandalism that became widespread in the late 80s. Historically, their emergence is associated with the idea of creating self-replicating programs - a concept that has its roots in the fifties. In order for the fight against viruses to be effective, it is necessary to effectively contribute to its elimination and be able to prevent the occurrence of this problem. The virus can penetrate from various files, programs, downloaded drivers and many other sources.

To achieve a good protection result, there is a multi-level protection, for example: in the beginning, to find an infected file, a detector program will work that can find the virus and notify the user about it.

The second stage of protection is to get rid of the virus. To do this, you can use doctor programs, audit programs and audit doctors. Auditors can detect a problem that managed to get through the first stage of protection. Doctor programs are designed to restore programs that have been infected.

In 2020, we have witnessed a sharp increase in cyber attacks using the needs and problems of the world's population. Based on the analysis of the literature, cyberthreat incidents were identified during the COVID-19 period [1-5]:

l.In the United States, 33,000 applications for unemployment benefits were filed under the pandemic unemployment support program. Information according to an NBC source.

2. The number of scammers increased by 400%, which made COVID-19 a security threat in history.

3. Google has blocked 18 million harmful and phishing messages and emails that were sent daily.

4. In ZOOM, half a million user accounts were hacked and sold on the shadow online forum.

5. In the UK, over 471 online stores were destroyed, with the help of which fake products related to COVID-19 were sold.

Figure 1 shows the statistics of cyber attacks during COVID-19.

Thus, it can be concluded that with the increase in the number of people spending more time on the Internet, cybercrime has increased. With the transition to "remote", the volume of work from home has increased, more and more corporate data is accessed from homes that most likely do not have the same level of security as office systems.
