ABSTRACT
Objective. Qualitative mastery of foreign students by sound knowledge and practical skills in neurology is a very important and complex problem. This is due, firstly, to the fact that the system of studying in secondary schools in most countries of the world has some differences from the East European, and therefore foreign students cannot adapt to such a system for some time. Second, a certain proportion of students do not have a sufficient level of secondary education.
Keywords: foreign students
Lecture material is most often taught in the form of lecture-discussions with the formulation of problem issues and the search for answers to them.
The motivational function of the lecture encourages students to learn their independent work in order to master the professional knowledge, skills and abilities, to constantly seek new knowledge, to professional and civic activity, to develop and form positive interests, and so on. Before the lecture begins, the students' focus is on the perception of the educational material, creating a positive emotional background for more effective further comprehension of the lecture material.
First of all, students are offered systematic studying of the educational material during the preparation for practical and seminars during the semester. The necessity of this is emphasized already at the first lecture, and the implementation begins with the first lesson in the groups.
The effectiveness of independent student work is ensured by a clear organization and control, the creation of the necessary conditions for the independent student work (library, reading room, computer classes, Internet network), advisable forms, methods and means of learning, teaching materials and objective control independent student work.
Modern information computer technologies not only provide a multimedia environment for presentation and active perception of educational information, but also carry out a stimulating action to motivate students to study this information.
Teachers of the Department constantly carry out consultative work, including individual work, throughout the school year, including final classes and exams. Foreign students have the opportunity to work out missed classes not only according to the schedule of admission, but also every working day, to their teacher. The best assimilation of neurology is facilitated by work in the student's scientific circle of the department, which is actively involved in foreign students.
Experience has shown that these methodological approaches to teaching neurology in groups of foreign students contribute to a significant increase in the level
of knowledge of students. A student works more efficiently if he has a clear idea of what knowledge and skills he will have when it comes to future medical activities, and with which he may be only acquainted.
The main problem in organizing the study of neurology was the discrepancy between the lecture and auditorium hours allocated for studying the subject, the amount of material needed to study, which led to the over-saturation of each occupation with new information.
Due to the lack of hours for the final classes, students lost the opportunity to consolidate the knowledge that would allow the student under the control of a teacher to systematize the information received. The student repeats the study material only when preparing for the modular control.
The second problem is the problem of organization of independent work. Although the loan includes a certain part of the material that the student has to work on their own, the department does not allocate enough time to help students in organizing their own mastery of discipline, as well as to counsel and test the quality of the student's independent work.
Another problem was the need to provide students with modern teaching materials that would be in line with current state standards and the essence of Bologna reforms. The role of methodological support as one of the means of management training and quality of training of future specialists is growing. To maximize the use of this tool, the teaching materials should be built in accordance with certain requirements. At our department the main place in the complex of methodological materials is the methodical instructions, through which the management of non-auditing self-training of students is carried out.
Methodical instructions for preparation for practical classes not only inform the student about where to take and to what extent to study the recommended study material, but also give the student the opportunity to determine their initial level of knowledge and, if necessary, to replenish it, help the student to use the information received in practice. Due to methodological instructions, students are already working on non-
auditing stages, similar to those that are then offered to them during classroom classes.
In the analysis of the pedagogical process it became clear that the method of conducting classes requires some changes to the generally accepted rules, insisting on the main priority - control. The control over the implementation of the program by the students is compulsory and is carried out at each lesson.
The key to successful implementation of any reforms in the educational process is the student's sufficient motivation to study. In this case, a very important role of the teacher - from the first acquaintance in a practical lesson or reading the first lecture to motivate the student to study the discipline.
It is important to emphasize the role of the curriculum, which reflects the most urgent medical problems and which with high probability will meet in the practice of any doctor. Finally, the role of a teacher as an assistant in mastering knowledge, optimal use of time and information resources in preparation for practical classes should be emphasized. With the development of the Internet, the idea of open education is further developed and technologically implemented. Such a form of educational process involves a student in open systems of information databases, removes the spatio-temporal limitation in working with various sources of information, which is very relevant in the modern information society.
Open education involves the use of new telecommunication facilities, involving the student in a broad open information world, and it allows the young person a new social formation to more fully realize their potential. Without this approach, the development of individuality is impossible, and in general - the evolution of society as a whole is impossible. Informatization of education in Ukraine is one of the most important mechanisms affecting the main directions of modernization of the educational system. Modern information technologies open up new perspectives for increasing the efficiency of the educational process. A great role is given to methods of active cognition, self-education, and distance learning programs.
Distance learning technologies can be considered as a natural stage in the evolution of the traditional education system from the chalk board to the electronic board and computer training systems, from the library library to the electronic, from the ordinary audience to the virtual audience.
As evidenced by the analysis of foreign classifications of models of organization of distance learning, scientists offer different variants of their classification:
1) by type of organization conducting distance learning;
2) by the type of educational material and means of transferring it to students;
3) the type of connection between the student and the teacher and the interaction of the student with the teacher and educational material;
4) by type of equipment with the help of which the DN is realized.
The effectiveness of distance learning is based on the fact that those who are trained themselves feel the need for further training, and not exposed to pressure. They have the opportunity to work with educational materials in such a mode and volume that suits them directly. The effect depends to a large extent on the regular attendance of the learner. The consistent implementation of control and diagnostic tasks, as well as support in all matters from the part of the coordinator lecturer, ensures a systematic assimilation of knowledge.
The ability to work on an educational server will help students solve problems with learning material and counseling at a distance in their free time. The training server is used by most students quite often. The most active students in attending the training server are senior students.
Most students prefer the following forms of control: test papers, abstracts, solving practical problems, assessing the level of knowledge in the process of personal work with the teacher, self-esteem. Most students of distance learning technology, regardless of course, study is given easy and positive impact on them.
Thus, more than half of the students noted that during their studies they mastered the ability to work independently, increased their level of knowledge and got confidence in their strengths and plans for the future. One can conclude that students are friendly towards distance education.
