ABSTRACT

Objective. Experience of staff of Department of Nervous Diseases, Psychiatry and Medical Psychology of Bukovinian State Medical University of using the distance learning system MOODLE by the fourth-year students is highlighted. Main advantages and disadvatages of the server work of the distance learning system MOODLE are presented.

Keywords: the distance learning system MOODLE.

With the development of the Internet, the idea of open education is further developed and technologically implemented. Such a form of educational process involves a student in open systems of information databases, removes the spatio-temporal limitation in working with various sources of information, which is very relevant in the modern information society. Open education involves the use of new telecommunication facilities, involving the student in a broad open information world, and it allows the young person a new social formation to more fully realize their potential. Without this approach, the development of individuality is impossible, and in general - the evolution of society as a whole is impossible.

Informatization of education in Ukraine is one of the most important mechanisms affecting the main directions of modernization of the educational system. Modern information technologies open up new perspectives for increasing the efficiency of the educational process. A great role is given to methods of active cognition, self-education, and distance learning programs.

Distance learning technologies can be considered as a natural stage in the evolution of the traditional education system from the chalk board to the electronic board and computer training systems, from the library library to the electronic, from the ordinary audience to the virtual audience.

As evidenced by the analysis of foreign classifications of models of organization of distance learning, scientists offer different variants of their classification:

1) by type of organization conducting distance learning;

2) by the type of educational material and means of transferring it to students;

3) the type of connection between the student and the teacher and the interaction of the student with the teacher and educational material;

4) on the profits of the university, which can be obtained using the DN;

5) by type of equipment, through which the DN is realized.

The effectiveness of distance learning is based on the fact that those who are trained themselves feel the need for further training, and not exposed to pressure. They have the opportunity to work with educational materials in such a mode and volume that suits them directly. The effect depends to a large extent on the regular attendance of the learner. The consistent implementation of control and diagnostic tasks, as well as support in all matters from the part of the coordinator lecturer, ensures a systematic assimilation of knowledge.

The ability to work on an educational server will help students solve problems with learning material and counseling at a distance in their free time. The training server is used by most students quite often. The most active students in attending the training server are senior students.

Most students prefer the following forms of control: test and certification works, abstracts, solving practical problems, assessing the level of knowledge in the process of personal interview with the teacher, self-esteem. Most students of distance learning technology, regardless of course, study is given easy and positive impact on them.

Thus, more than half of the students noted that during their studies they mastered the ability to work independently, increased their level of knowledge and got confidence in their strengths and plans for the future. One can conclude that students are friendly towards distance education.

Interactive tools (e-mail, computer communications and videoconferences) began to be implemented in the educational process in order to provide students with such conditions, as well as give them unlimited possibilities of independent informational work. And now there is a lot of evidence that, on a range of indicators, the results of online online learning even outweigh the expectations associated with it.

The potential of remote technology is highly valued. However, as far as possible, the replacement of traditional technologies by distance is still cautious. Often, the view is that any person should be given an alternative and freedom to choose educational technologies. But there is a conviction that remote technologies are the future. Students who study distance are more adapted to external conditions, they are more independent, sociable and sociable, not afraid to make important decisions, and thus, in the modern world of business they will be easier for them.

A mixed model of learning is a model for using distributed informational and educational resources in in-patient education with the use of elements of asynchronous and synchronous distance learning. Practiced as an element of in-patient training during classroom classes and in independent work of students. That is, mixed learning inherits the benefits of distance learning and eliminates its disadvantages.

The objectives of learning in a mixed form remain the same, the means and methods of their achievement change. Knowledge control system receives new possibilities: use of control systems in combination with traditional methods.

Mixed learning uses a variety of methods, both traditional and interactive: lecture laboratories, computer presentations, computer training and learning through the Internet. These methods are used both individually and in combination with each other.

Publishers of electronic products produce various types of multimedia products: electronic textbooks, guides, control programs, encyclopedias, etc. These software products can be a great help in teaching, but often do not fit as a supplement to the created program from the subject and require correction. Therefore, the e-learning manuals developed by the teacher are more useful and interesting to use.

The most important factors that ensure the effectiveness of the use of electronic tutorials developed by the teacher are their high availability, simplicity (excluding the need for purchase, reduced requirements for computer resources) and the possibility of teamwork with students.

At the Department of Nervous Diseases, Psychiatry and Medical Psychology. SM Savenko Bukovinsky State Medical University uses distance learning in the system MOODLE.

Moodle (an acronym from the Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment) - an educational platform designed to bring teachers, administrators, and students (students) together in one robust, secure and integrated system for creating personalized learning the environment.

Moodle is a free, open source (Open Source) learning management system. It implements the philosophy of "pedagogicssocial constructivism," and focuses primarily on the organization of interaction between teacher and students, although it is also suitable for organizing traditional distance courses, as well as for continuing lifelong learning.

Moodle is translated into dozens of languages, including Ukrainian. The system is used in 197 countries of the world.

The main developer of the system is Martin Dougiama from Australia. This project is open and a lot of other developers are involved.

The MOODLE platform can be used for both distance learning and for controlling, independent, practical and laboratory work, as this system provides various types of work and the ability to download students' work in the form of files on the server.

The Moodle system is quite versatile, and its use benefits everyone - both students, faculty, and educational institutions. The following opportunities and benefits of using the Moodle system in the learning process appear:

The teacher:

1. Convenient tool for accounting and control of student work.

2. Establish the necessary terms for students to accomplish tasks.

3. Software, the European standard Moodle for the organization of the educational process by the modular system required by the Bologna Declaration.

4. Possibility of using audio and video materials in the organization of the educational process.

5. To be included in the European register of copyright holders.

6. Wide opportunities for changes, expansion, addition and correction of teaching and teaching materials of discipline.

7. Tests to conduct student knowledge control using different types of questions.

8. Automated system of rating assessment of independent work of students.

9. A mechanism for attracting students to the formation of students teaching and teaching materials developed by teachers.

10. Software that is protected from unauthorized access, alteration and damage (destruction).

11. Software for the possibility of performing scientific and methodological developments at their own choice, sequence and tempo.

Students:

1. Logically structured and complete educational and methodological material that improves the conditions for independent study of discipline.

2. Self-testing tools.

3. Means of fulfillment of tasks and evaluation regardless of human factor, teacher.

4. Possibility of personal participation and assistance to the teacher on the computer providing of educational process.

5. Real participation in students' scientific work.

6. Modular organization of the educational process, which in the final version will allow you to do without exams.

7. Advanced Internet Resources.

8. Possibility of distance learning of educational materials.

Disadvantages and risks. Ways of overcoming them The disadvantages of such a center of distance education are its dependence on hosting and on the provider provided by a dedicated server or another. Therefore, systematic backups of the database and the educational platform data themselves should be done in order

to quickly recover lost information in case of unforeseen circumstances or to transfer it to another server, if necessary. Dependence on Internet providers, as this system works only online. It can be installed locally, but then it will not be available on the Global Network, and it is unlikely that it can be called a remote one.

Electronic versions of textbooks, which became the basis for creating distance courses, as well as traditional textbooks, do not solve the problem of independent activity of students in obtaining knowledge. These software products only create a so-called virtual learning environment, in which there is a distance learning. But here already there are such psychological problems as lack of experience of independent work (first of all, for students of the first course), insufficient volitional self-regulation, influence of group installations, etc.

Therefore, the developers of courses should pay special attention (at the initial stage of the course) to the need for detailed planning of educational activities, its organization, clear statement of goals and objectives of training. Students must understand the purpose of the proposed courses. From the content of the material, which determines the structure and level of their cognitive interests (general or special), the effectiveness of the student's educational process depends to a large extent.

Cognitive processes of students directly influence the mastering of educational material. It follows that when developing teaching materials for distance learning, it is necessary to take into account the psychological patterns of perception, memory, thinking, attention, as well as age characteristics of students. Taking into account these features helps to increase the level of perception of information and mastering of educational material by those who study in the system of distance education.

Distance courses offer student control elements that can not be implemented in normal mode (classroom classes).

Obviously, introducing into the educational process modern teaching methods can significantly increase its quality, make the learning process more flexible, and stimulate students to work independently.
