Keywords: multimedia, school, computer technology, Internet.

In recent years, the question of the use of new multimedia technologies in teaching. These are not only new technical means, but also new forms and methods of teaching, a new approach to the process learning. The task of the teacher is to activate the cognitive activity of the student in the process of teaching foreign languages. Modern pedagogical technologies such as collaborative learning, project methodology, the use of new multimedia technologies, Internet resources help implement a student-centered approach to learning, provide individualization and differentiation of education, taking into account the abilities of children, their learning level, inclinations, etc. Forms of work with computer training programs in the classroom foreign language include:

- study of vocabulary;

- pronunciation practice;

- teaching dialogical and monologic speech;

- teaching writing;

- working out grammatical phenomena.

The possibilities of using Internet resources are enormous. The global Internet creates conditions for obtaining any necessary for students and for teachers of information located anywhere in the world: regional studies material, news from the life of youth, articles from newspapers and magazines, necessary literature, etc. In English lessons using the Internet you can solve a number of didactic tasks: to form skills and abilities reading using materials from the global network; improve skills written speech for schoolchildren; replenish the vocabulary of students; shape pupils have a steady motivation to learn English. Moreover, the work is

aimed at studying the possibilities of Internet technologies for expanding the horizons of schoolchildren, establish and maintain business ties and contacts with their peers in English-speaking countries. Students can take part in tests, quizzes, contests, Olympiads held on the Internet, correspond with peers from other countries, participate in chat rooms, video conferencing, etc.

Students can receive information on the problem they are working on at the moment in the framework of the project. This could be a joint work of Russian schoolchildren and their foreign peers from one or more countries. One of the most revolutionary achievements in recent decade, which significantly influenced the educational process in all the world, was the creation of a worldwide computer network, which received the name Internet, which literally means international net. Cyberspace for educational purposes is an absolutely new direction of general didactics and private methodology, since the ongoing changes affect all aspects of the educational process, ranging from the choice of techniques and style of work, ending with changing requirements for academic level of students. Substantive basis of mass computerization of education, certainly related to the fact that a modern computer is an effective means of optimizing the conditions of mental work in general, in any manifestation. In accordance with the research of scholars R. Williams and C. Maclee : "There is one peculiarity of the computer, which is revealed when using it as a device for teaching others, and as a helper in the acquisition of knowledge, it is his inanimate. Machine can be "friendly" communication with the user and at some point "support" him, however, she will never show signs of irritability or make you feel like she got bored. In this sense, the use of computers is perhaps most useful in individualizing certain aspects teaching ".

Furthermore, the main purpose of learning a foreign language in secondary school is formation of communicative competence, all other goals (educational, upbringing, developmental) are implemented in the process implementation of this main goal. A communicative approach involves communication training and the formation of the ability to intercultural interaction, which is the basis for the functioning of the Internet. Outside communication Internet does not make sense -it is an international multinational, cross-cultural society, whose livelihood is based on electronic communication of millions of people around the world, speaking at the same time - the most the largest conversation in size and number of participants that ever was happening. By engaging in it in a foreign language lesson, we create a model real communication. By communicating in a true language environment provided by the Internet, learners find themselves in real life situations. Involved in

the solution of a wide range of meaningful, realistic, interesting and achievable tasks, schoolchildren learn to spontaneously and adequately respond to them, which stimulates the creation original statements, and not a stereotyped manipulation of language formulas. Priority is given to understanding, conveying content and the expression of meaning, which motivates the study of the structure and vocabulary of a foreign languages that serve this purpose. Thus, the attention of students focuses on the use of forms rather than themselves, and learning grammar is carried out indirectly, in direct communication, excluding the pure study of grammar rules. The computer is loyal to a variety of student responses: it does not accompanies the work of students with laudatory or disapproving comments, which develops their independence and creates a favorable social and psychological atmosphere in the lesson, giving them self-confidence that is an important factor for the development of their personality. The development of education today is organically linked to the increase the level of its information potential. This characteristic is in many ways determines both the direction of evolution of education itself, and the future of everything society. For the most successful orientation in the world information space, it is necessary for students to master the information culture, and also a computer-screen culture, since the priority in search more and more information is given to the Internet.

The Internet as an information system offers its users variety of information and resources. The basic set of services may include yourself:

-E-mail (e-mail); -teleconferences (usenet); -video conferencing;

-The ability to publish your own information, create own homepage and posting it on

Web server;

-Access to information resources;

-Reference directories (Yahoo !, InfoSeek / UltraSmart, LookSmart, Galaxy);

search engines (AltaVista, HotBob, OpenText, WebCrawler, Excite); -conversation on the network (Chat).

These resources can be actively used in the lesson. Mastering communicative and intercultural competence impossible without communication practice, and the use of Internet resources in the lesson a foreign language in this sense is simply irreplaceable: a virtual environment.

By the way of conclusion ,the Internet allows educationalists to go beyond time and space, providing its users the possibility of authentic communication with real interlocutors on topics relevant to both sides. However, we should not forget that the Internet - only an additional technical means of teaching, and to achieve for optimal results, it is necessary to correctly integrate its use during the lesson.
