INTRODUCTION
Teaching grammar in English lessons is essential for learners to understand the structure and rules of the language. However, it can be a challenging task for educators to make grammar lessons engaging and effective. In this article, we will explore some effective methods of teaching grammar in English lessons, supported by references from educational research.
METHODOLOGY

ized learning. This approach involves teaching grammar rules in the context of meaningful and authentic language use. According to Larsen-Freeman and Anderson [1] , contextualized learning helps students understand how grammar functions in real-life situations, making it more memorable and applicable.
Educators can use authentic texts, such as newspapers, literature excerpts, or multimedia resources, to teach grammar points. For example, instead of teaching passive voice in isolation, teachers can present a news article where passive constructions are used naturally. This approach helps students grasp the grammatical concept while also improving their overall language comprehension.
Communicative Activities:
Integrating communicative activities into grammar lessons is another effective strategy. Communicative activities focus on meaningful interaction and use of language in real communication situations. As stated by Thornbury [2], communicative activities promote active engagement and application of grammar rules in speaking and writing.
Examples of communicative activities include role-plays, debates, information gaps, and problem-solving tasks. For teaching verb tenses, educators can design a role-play activity where students act out past experiences using past tense forms. This not only reinforces grammar but also enhances students' speaking and listening skills.
Scaffolded Instruction:
Scaffolded instruction is a pedagogical approach that provides structured support to learners as they acquire new knowledge and skills (Vygotsky, 1978) [3]. In the context of teaching grammar, scaffolding can involve gradual progression from simple to complex grammar structures.
Educators can start with explicit teaching of basic grammar concepts, followed by guided practice activities. As students gain proficiency, they can engage in more challenging tasks, such as writing compositions or analyzing complex sentences. This approach ensures that learners build a solid foundation in grammar before tackling advanced language tasks.
Incorporating Technology:
Technology can be a valuable tool in teaching grammar, offering interactive and multimedia resources to enhance learning experiences. Interactive grammar websites, educational apps, and digital quizzes provide instant feedback and personalized practice opportunities for students.
Educators can use online platforms to create grammar exercises, interactive games, and multimedia presentations that cater to different learning styles. For instance, a grammar quiz app can offer adaptive questions based on students' perfor-

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Effective grammar instruction takes into account the diverse learning needs and preferences of students. Employing differentiated instruction techniques allows teachers to tailor their approach based on students' language proficiency levels, learning styles, and interests. For example, providing varied activities such as visual aids, hands-on tasks, group discussions, and individualized practice can cater to different learner preferences and enhance engagement.
Providing constructive feedback and implementing targeted error correction strategies are crucial for improving students' grammar skills. Instead of simply pointing out mistakes, teachers can use techniques such as peer editing, guided error correction activities, and focused grammar drills to help students recognize and correct their errors. This approach fosters a positive learning environment where students learn from their mistakes and actively work towards improving their grammar accuracy.
Integration with Content-Based Instruction:
Integrating grammar instruction with content-based lessons enhances students' understanding and application of grammar in authentic contexts. By linking grammar lessons to topics related to science, history, literature, or current events, teachers can create meaningful connections that reinforce language skills while expanding students' knowledge in other subject areas. This interdisciplinary approach encourages deeper comprehension and long-term retention of grammar concepts.
Effective grammar instruction goes beyond rote memorization of rules; it encourages students to use language actively in meaningful communication. Teachers can facilitate language production through speaking and writing activities that require students to apply grammar rules in real-life situations. Encouraging discussions, debates, storytelling, and creative writing prompts fosters language fluency and reinforces grammar concepts in context.
Ongoing assessment and timely feedback play a crucial role in monitoring students' progress and guiding their learning journey. Formative assessments, quizzes, performance tasks, and self-assessment tools can be used to gauge students' understanding of grammar concepts at different stages. Providing specific and constructive feedback helps students identify areas for improvement and motivates them to actively engage in learning grammar.
