DUSTY PLASMA AS UNIQUE OBJECT OF COLLISIONAL PLASMA PHYSICS

JIHT RAS, Moscow, Russia A number of dusty plasma unusual properties are under consideration. The basic openness and self-consistency of dusty plasma system, the particle charge inconstancy in time, charge dependence on the environment parameters, high dissipation, significant influence of stochastic processes and self-organization lead to the appearance of a number of unusual properties and phenomena that occur only in dusty plasmas. Precisely this meaning is put into the term of uniqueness of dusty plasmas. The beginning of this area is put in [1,2], which are first to formulate the equation of dust particles motion with account of dust particles charge fluctuations, the dependence of the charge on the position in near-electrode layer and the proximity of other dust particles, gas discharge sheath features. Here we discuss the mechanisms and consequences of the following phenomena.

1) "Anomalous heating" of dusty plasma system. The dust particles average kinetic energy may exceed the value of electron temperature and can be as high as thousands of eV.

2) Anisotropy of the temperature and plasma properties. The average kinetic energy of the vertical motion may differ significantly from that of horizontal motion, but each of them has a normal distribution and may be considered as in partial equilibrium.

4) Parametric resonance. Parametric resonance occurs only in a dusty plasma of all examples of a collisional plasma. One of the energy transfer mechanism in dusty plasma system is based on parametric resonance.

4) The interparticle interaction potential. Unique properties of the interaction potential of dust subsystem (self-consistency, many- particle, fluctuation, anisotropy) has a direct impact on the "anomalous heating", which hung up the chain of the research.

5) Dust particle charge fluctuations. Significant charge fluctuations alter the interparticle interaction potential, make stochastic component significant and lead to a set of unique effects.
