8DIFFERENT SIDE EFFECTS AND USES OF ANTIBIOTICS

Abstract. Researchers at the Cincinnati Children's Medical Center and their colleagues at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia have found that antibiotics increase the risk ofpneumonia in newborns. This was reported by the journal Science Translational Medicine.
Experiments conducted on mice showed that the mutual "harmony" of certain cells of the intestine and bacteria included in the normal microflora is important for the development of the immunity of newly born rodents. As a result of this "coherence ", cells that protect babies from bacterial pneumonia enter the mucous membrane of the lungs.

In the course of the study, it was found that antibiotics prevent bacteria from entering the intestine, which prevents them from reacting with certain cells. Naturally, protection against pathogenic bacteria that harm the respiratory system is not formed.
The findings show that antibiotics increase the risk of death from pneumonia-causing microorganisms in newborns.
Disorders of the gastrointestinal tract. Symptoms - nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or constipation. They appear immediately after taking the drug and stop at the end of the course. To get rid of these unpleasant consequences, you can replace the antibiotic with injections into capsules or tablets. Of course, only a doctor can do this. Taking antibiotics on a full stomach also helps improve your well-being, because food protects the mucous membrane from direct contact with the drug.
Intestinal dysbiosis. Antibiotics kill not only pathogenic, but also beneficial microbes, as a result of which the composition of the intestinal microflora is disturbed. Dysbacteriosis manifests itself in the form of diarrhea, flatulence and constipation. These symptoms appear a few days after taking antibiotics and often do not disappear after the end of treatment. To prevent dysbiosis, you need to drink drugs that normalize the intestinal microflora at the same time as taking an antibiotic. These include, for example, Linex, Hilak Forte.
Allergy. It can manifest itself as skin rash and itching, urticaria, Quincke's edema or anaphylactic shock. If symptoms of an allergic reaction appear, you should immediately consult a doctor who will prescribe an antihistamine or replace the antibiotic.
Cancer (candidiasis). The disease occurs when the composition of the microflora is disturbed, the active growth of Candida fungi begins in the body. Symptoms of itching are white cheese plaques in the mouth or genitals, as well as burning and itching. The itching usually starts a few weeks after taking the antibiotics. As a prophylaxis, it is also recommended to take antifungal drugs or use local antiseptics to treat the fungus.
Toxic damage to the liver, kidneys and nervous system. Liver problems are indicated by high fever, reddening of the skin, changes in the color of urine and feces. Kidney damage is manifested by back pain, severe thirst, and a significant change in the amount of urine. Damage to the nervous system can manifest itself in the form of dizziness and headache. In severe cases,
hearing, vision and coordination problems may occur. It is necessary to consult a doctor as soon as possible to prescribe treatment.
Hematological diseases. This is the most serious side effect after taking antibiotics. They can manifest as hemolytic anemia and require urgent medical attention.
Side effects of antibiotic treatment occur when various factors coincide, therefore, the issue of prescribing antibiotics should be decided only by a doctor. In this case, the risk of negative reactions is minimal. Before taking an antibiotic, you should study the instructions in detail and follow them exactly.
Factors such as fungal diseases, genetic predisposition, observation of allergies or long-term use of the drug can cause an allergic reaction. There is also a possibility that drugs taken for a long time in chronic diseases accumulate in the body and cause various allergic conditions. For this reason, it is emphasized that in the treatment of such diseases, it is necessary to take medicines with a break. If you are allergic to a drug, do not rush to treat yourself with another drug. In such situations, it is advisable to carry out the necessary treatment after the body is cleansed with antiinflammatory drugs.
When a reaction occurs...
When a reaction to a drug occurs, it is not a mistake to confuse it with a simple allergy. The primary symptoms are typical of allergies. In this:
— redness, itching in the skin area;
— donkey food (a rash with a large appearance on the skin);
Allergic rhinitis;
Shortness of breath;
Symptoms such as redness of the inside of the eye and frequent watering can be observed.
At the same time, there are also serious complications of drug reactions. In particular, Quincke's edema, bronchial asthma attacks, falling into a state of anaphylactic shock are among them.
Before taking or injecting an unfamiliar drug, be sure to check for side effects. If this is a drug in the form of tablets, carefully study the contents. If it's an injection, inject a small amount into the body through a needle and see if it works. If Bodo reacts, the area of the skin where the injection was given will be red and swollen.
As we mentioned above, if your body doesn't seem to like the medicine you're taking and you notice a few signs of it, you can do the following:
Stop taking any medication and consult your doctor;
— eat little by little for 2-3 days after the onset of allergy symptoms; then do not eat allergy-causing products for a week to ten days;
Drink more liquid at the first signs, preferably boiled or still water;
— In order to protect yourself from further complications of allergies, undergo an allergist-doctor examination and, if necessary, take the necessary treatment.
Side effects
When buying a medicine, pay attention to the instructions: "Side effects" and pay attention to which diseases it is not recommended. Also, if you are choosing an independent drug, study its compatibility with other types. For example, if you have a headache and you have a stomach ulcer, all kinds of painkillers will not be suitable for you. In order to choose the right one, you need to familiarize yourself with the instructions.
