At the meeting devoted to the reform and development of the general secondary education system, the head of state emphasized the need to raise the quality of general secondary education to a new level. At the same time, it is necessary to review the state education standards and curricula based on what skills the student will have in each class. It is necessary to create and publish textbooks on the basis of the most modern methods, to strengthen areas such as technology, technical basics, mathematics, visual arts, and foreign languages in schools, and to re-equip science laboratories. It is also necessary to pay attention to ensuring continuity of pre-school and higher education systems.

In accordance with the state standards, the main goal of teaching English at school at the current stage is the formation of linguistic, cultural and communicative competence of students.

It is no secret that most of us do not have a well-trained voice, do not know how to speak clearly and grammatically correctly, and do not know how to express our opinion.

expressing one's feelings with different intonation means in free creative interpretation in oral and written form, not following the culture of speech and not developing the ability to communicate. poor, because they do not tend to speak vividly, expressively and in a variety of ways.

In addition, the change of values and attractions in modern society cannot affect the language. Of course, the speech of young people is influenced by the mass media, including the internet and mass media, where illiteracy is shown as the norm, as well as modern youth slang as a literary language. . Of course, it is necessary to fight for this by looking for really effective ways of forming a language personality, effective ways of working on the development of speech, speech culture and speech creativity.

Today, it is more important than ever for the teacher to arouse interest in the sound word, to teach children to feel its true taste and purpose. Undoubtedly, this process is long and laborious and requires a certain organization, system, methodological ingenuity and invention, and practical experience.

"Speech culture is a set of knowledge, skills and abilities that provide the author of a speech to easily construct speech statements for the optimal solution of communication problems."

It is necessary for every person to learn to construct speech clearly and grammatically, to freely creatively interpret his thoughts in oral and written form, to observe speech culture and to develop the ability to communicate.

However, it cannot be recognized that a systematic approach, a system of necessary exercises, and the necessary manuals for this work are often lacking in the formation of consistent speaking skills. This leads to the fact that most of the students in the school at present face a big problem, such as illiteracy, inconsistency, poverty, not only in oral, but also in written language.

Strengthening the communicative direction of school language education can be considered an achievement of methodology science in recent decades. To date, many studies have been devoted to the formation of students' communicative competence (Ladyzhenskaya T.A., Baranov M.T., Kapinos V.I., Soloveichik M.S., Nikitina E.I., Barinova E.A., Sabatkoev R.B., Eremeeva A.P., Demidova A.P., Demidova. , Khodyakova L.A., Arkhipova E.V., Voiteleva T.M. and others). Methodology is currently actively engaged in the search for answers to the questions of what it means to be "fluent in a language" and how to achieve it. Working on the text (text activity) simultaneously becomes a means of developing students' speech. In this regard, special attention is paid to literature lessons in the teaching of English, which primarily helps to develop communication skills of schoolchildren (Shansky N.M., Lvova

At present, it is necessary to seriously solve the problem of combining the development of speech, the comprehensive formation of the child's personality with the study of the language system. Scientists have repeatedly noted the connection between learning the mother tongue and the development of the human spirit (Buslaev F.I., Ushinsky K.D., Sreznevsky I.I., Dobromyslov V.A., Rybnikova M.A. and others). But the methodology has recently gone to search for such methods and methods of speech development, which are important both in the development of the mind and in emotional-educational plans (Fedorenko L.P., Deikina A.D., Plenkin N.P., Antonova). E.S., Logvinova L.V. etc.).

The student's communicative competence directly depends on the level of speech development. It is known from the scientific literature that 80% of the time a person spends in the waking state is related to his speech activity, and his social role is most clearly manifested in the process of communication.

Developing students' speech is an important problem of modern education.

It is no coincidence that the modern concept of the content of teaching English at school envisages the formation of not only linguistic (linguistic), but also communicative (speech) competence related to mastering all types of speech activities in schoolchildren. as well as the culture of oral and written speech, the rules and methods of using language in various fields of communication.

The formation of a broad linguistic outlook in children, the ability to use the figurative and expressive possibilities of the English language, the development of respect for words, the development of creative potential and communicative competence are of crucial importance. School education aimed at the formation of common culture, cognitive development creates a basis for the independent realization of the individual's capabilities, and also ensures the social success of a person in the information society. A highly educated, language literate specialist can achieve great success, because his horizons of thinking and opportunities to show his creative abilities are expanding. Today, education is seen not as a simple transfer of knowledge from a teacher to a student, but as a collaboration, and working methods that ensure the formation of an independent creative person ready to perceive and solve innovative problems in the educational process begin to dominate. . Therefore, today the school faces big and serious tasks - not only to restore respect for the word, but also to use the possibilities of teaching English language and literature to the maximum in order to search for effective and

The following questions arise before the theory and practice of teaching and training methods: how to improve the process of developing the speech of schoolchildren, create motivation for learning, create technologies aimed at developing and activating the creative abilities of students, the ability to update skills. For this purpose, teaching-methodical manuals are being developed with the involvement of new didactic material, they have the task of developing the creative potential of schoolchildren in addition to mastering the rules of normative speech, developing speech skills and competencies. , serves to further master the mastery. the formation of speech skills and the formation of the ability to learn.

The following methods were used to solve the specified tasks: selection of material in the direction of scientific research;

analysis of linguistic, methodological, pedagogical, psychological literature in order to establish the theoretical foundations of learning;

targeted monitoring of the educational process; study and summarize the pedagogical experience of teachers;

analysis of students' written works;

conducting identification, training and control experiments; processing the results of the experiment;

development of a methodological system for the development of students' speech.

Modern textbooks of the English language contain materials about how the language works and what its basic laws are. Also, they provide practical mastering of the basic orthographic, lexical, and grammatical norms of the modern English language. However, given the current language situation, I would like to expand this aspect of language learning. Therefore, it seems very appropriate to include new methods in the content of sample programs.

Increasing the sense of patriotism is the main task of teachers today. Speech, like a mirror, reflects the speaker's thoughts and inner world, moral values and views, manners and patriotism. Today, teachers of English language and literature face an important task: to educate the culture of speech, to reveal to students the expressive power of our language, its harmony, rhythm, differences and richness of our intonation, etc.

High speech culture of students cannot be determined only by spelling and punctuation literacy. Stylistic literacy, correct oral speech skills and expressiveness of reading, rich vocabulary are other aspects

of general speech culture. In the process of daily English lessons,

we need to reveal to students the expressive power of our language, its euphony, rhythm, differences and richness of our intonation, etc.

The problem of modern school is that teenagers use slang and embarrassing vocabulary along with common words.

In modern English, youth slang is called slang. Jargon - the speech of any social or professional group, which includes a large number of words and phrases characteristic of this group (some artificial or conditional) Slang of students, young people, thieves and others. These are words and phrases similar to homonyms, colored stylistically: kramming, spur, capets, skiff, tin, etc. The appearance of these slang words is connected with the fact that young people try to show themselves and their attitude to the topic of conversation more clearly in their eyes. friends around. The speech of many young people is "filled" with such words and phrases: cool, cool, super, buzz, baldness, waste, precipitation, atas, nix, fawn, etc.

Today, to speak politely and nicely means to make yourself a laughing stock. Adolescents consider such peers as "pacifiers", "loshars", "mattresses". The use of fashionable, "established" lexical forms has already become a norm and rule of communication in society, especially among young people.

It is worrying that slang often turns into rude words in the speech of young people. According to many, the collective mat unites, allows to establish a close relationship. Mat is an obscene, offensive insult, a bad word.

In ancient times, the Slavs firmly believed that demons enter a house where people curse or swear, but good spirits and angels leave such a house. In Old English literature and folklore, swearing was associated with the idea of offending Mother Earth, the Mother of God, and man's own mother.

An intelligent, polite and decent person, even when angry, does not swear, but finds other words to express his feelings.

From early school age, there is no need to stop the problem of blocking English speech. On the contrary, it is necessary to tell the students that swearing is the language of unsuccessful people. Teachers - philologists, should do this in English language and literature, speech culture classes, and even in foreign language classes, because children, oddly enough, remember very well the sound of swear words in languages. near and far abroad.

In the classroom, you need to convey the truth about today's "verbal garbage" to the children very accurately. Learn to respect your speech and the speech of others.

Schoolchildren should be able to competently, quickly and accurately convey verbal thoughts in oral and written form, taking into account the conditions of communication, know the signs of good speech, see and feel these signs in literary examples need to awaken in them the desire to improve their speech and at the same time the thought, feeling, spiritual and moral world.
