When studying dusty plasmas, the scientific community often faces the problem of a lack of data that can be measured in an experiment and compared with theoretical estimates. One approach is to estimate the statistical characteristic close to the generally accepted concept of entropy.
The configuration entropy and the Krylov-Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy are estimated for the plasma-dust system model. Dusty plasma simulation is made using the Langevin dynamics method for the extended model. The behavior of the characteristics is considered for the wide range of the system parameters. In particular, the dependence on the number of particles is considered and the minimum number of particles necessary for carrying out the calculations is discussed. Comparison of these approaches for calculation of entropy-like characteristics with other approaches of statistical physics for the estimation of thermodynamic parameters is carried out. We discuss the closeness between the values of the configuration entropy, the Krylov-Kolmogorov-Sinai entropy, and the thermodynamic entropy. We also consider the possibility of obtaining the other parameters of the system on the basis of measuring the entropy quantities.
