The article discusses the classification of medical information systems (MIS): medical information systems at the base level, medical information systems at the level of medical institutions, medical information systems at the territorial level and federal level.

Keywords: Мedical information systems, classification, advisory center, territorial level, basic level, federal level.

The classification of medical information systems is based on a hierarchical principle and corresponds to the multi-level structure of health care. There are:

I. basic level medical information systems, the main purpose of which is computer support for the work of doctors of various specialties; they make it possible to improve the quality of preventive and laboratory diagnostic work, especially in conditions of mass service with a shortage of time for qualified specialists. According to the tasks to be solved:

a) reference systems (designed to search for and provide medical information upon user request),

b) consultative and diagnostic systems (for the diagnosis of pathological conditions, including prognosis and development of recommendations on methods of treatment, for diseases of various types),

c) instrument-computer systems (for informational support and / or automation of the diagnostic and therapeutic process carried out in direct contact with the patient's body),

d) automated workplaces of specialists (for automating the entire technological process of a doctor of a relevant specialty and providing information support in making diagnostic and tactical medical decisions);

II. medical information systems of the level of medical institutions.

Presented by the following main groups:

a) information systems of advisory centers (designed to ensure the functioning of relevant departments and information support of doctors in counseling, diagnosis and decision-making in emergency situations),

b) banks of information of medical services (contain summary data on the qualitative and quantitative composition of employees of the institution, the attached population, basic statistical information, characteristics of service areas and other necessary information),

c) personalized registers (containing information on the assigned or observed contingent on the basis of a formalized medical history or outpatient card),

d) screening systems (for carrying out a pre-medical preventive examination of the population, as well as for identifying risk groups and patients requiring specialist assistance),

e) information systems of the medical institution (based on the integration of all information flows into a single system and provide automation of various types of activities of the institution),

f) information systems of scientific research institutes and medical universities (they solve 3 main tasks: informatization of the technological process of education, research work and management activities of scientific research institutes and universities);

III. Territorial-level medical information systems.

Presented by:

a) IS territorial health authority;

b) IS for solving medical and technological problems, providing information support for the activities of medical professionals of specialized medical services;

c) computerized telecommunication medical networks ensuring the creation of a single information space at the regional level;

IV. Federal level, intended for information support of the state level of the health care system.
