The most common way to use a computer is with PowerPoint presentations. They are very informative, colorful and interesting. The capabilities of multimedia technologies allow the student to plunge into the virtual world and see what can only be written in a book. Electronic galleries allow you to view the works of great artists on the spot, and the libraries of countries allow you to visit all places on the globe. All this will be useful not only in the lesson, but also in later life.
There is now a wide variety of modern multimedia textbooks that provide ample exercise for learners of all ages and levels of knowledge. Great help in carrying out phonetic exercises is provided by the curriculum "Professor Higgins", "English without an accent" and also a number of other multimedia textbooks [2]. Sounds, words, phrases and sentences are perceived by students by ear and visually. Students have the opportunity to observe articulation movements on the computer screen and hear the correct intonation.
Texts for listening on regional studies in middle and high school can be selected from the multimedia textbook "English Basic Course", which contains about 60 texts on various topics on the history, culture and life of Great Britain and the United States. These texts are quite interesting and informative. The multimedia textbook "English Course" is very easy to use and easy to digest. It has a large selection of dialogues on a variety of topics, for example, "Food", "Shops", "Football", "At the disco", "Shopping", etc. It is more likely intended for individual lessons - for those who want to quickly learn the basic spoken English [3]. Very informative, rich in vivid role-playing games, films, and texts, and both children and adults like the multimedia programs "Oxford Platinum" and "English. Everyone knows about the learning capabilities of games. Many eminent educators have rightly paid attention to the effectiveness of games on the learning process. Along with oral games, you can also use the multimedia course "Learn English". There is a wide variety of vocabulary games where you learn the spelling of words, their translations and pronunciation. All games are accompanied by colorful pictures. Although it is recommended for children from 3 to 8 years old, it is also interesting for older students. The program "Bridge to English" also has a number of auxiliary reference books: an English-Russian dictionary, grammar and phonetic reference books. Exercises in this program are selected so that they "capture" the student; make him want to know "what will happen next", as well as
how many points he will score for performing this or that exercise and what grade the computer will give him. For each type of work, for each exercise performed, the computer loudly announces the grade: "excellent" or "very good", "not bad", "bad" [1].
