The article presents the results of the authors’ research works connected with the most rational ways to grip the handle of a kettlebell revelation when performing classical exercises in kettlebell lifting, such as: a long cycle push. Materials. The article discusses the results of the research works by native and foreign authors, surveys among respondents on the basics of the throwing weights on the chest technique for a long cycle pushing with a different grip. Research methods. Scientific literature analysis and summarizing, respondents interview. Results. Optimal coordination of muscle efforts means that the strength of individual muscle groups should be used during the moments when, together with the applied strength of other muscle groups, it can be the most effective. It means it would provide the speed of weights movement increase. The correct grip of weights when throwing for a long cycle push and methodological guidelines for the strength development of the corresponding muscle groups, the effort of which is necessary for strong hold, also would be extremely useful. Athletes who do not have sufficiently strong hands have great difficulty during kettle balls throwing. In such cases it is reasonable to use stronger grasps – locking grasp. Conclusion. It was revealed that it is reasonable for a weightlifter to use a “locking grasp”. This circumstance should be taken into account by athletes and when choosing a grasp, the characteristics of their own physical development should be considered. The standard grasp can’t be used constantly, as during training with the use of a number of special additional exercises, the ratio in hands muscles development may change. It must be taken into account and the grasp should be changed according to the strength of hands muscles development. Weightlifters, who don’t have sufficient physical readiness, have great difficulty during kettle bells throwing. In such cases it is more reasonable to use stronger grasps locking grasps. Scientific novelty of the research is in analyzing the technique of throwing weights on the chest for a long cycle pushing with a different grasp. Practical significance is in the introduction of methodological guidelines for the strength of the corresponding muscle groups development, the effort of which is necessary for the weights hold when throwing on the chest.

Introduction

Kettlebell lifting is a cyclic strength oriented kind of sport. It is based on a kettle ball lifting maximal possible times within the definite time period in a standing position. In kettlebell lifting the following disciplines competitions are held: classical double-event, a long cycle push, army weightlifting jerk, weightlifting juggling. We studied "a long cycle kettle balls push" exercise.

Classical exercise "a long cycle kettle balls push" is a very difficult exercise. It an athlete's high physical readiness. The aim of the exercise is to throw two kettle balls on chest and push them upward with straight hands, using the strength of legs and hands with the help of well-mastered technique.

Materials and methods

In kettlebell lifting, in particular during a long cycle push fulfillment, great importance has the handle grasp of a kettle ball during its throw. Two main ways of the handle grasp are used: simple and locking.

We selected 10 weightlifters of different weight categories for the pedagogical experiment in order to define the strength of hands and an optimal way of the handle grasp of a kettle ball [Voronkov, 2017, p. 106-109]. The respondents fulfilled one of the movements of "a long cycle push" exercise - throwing on a chest (24 kg, 32 kg) during 10 minutes. The table presents the results of the experiment.

A grasp is the distance between the fingers on the handle of a kettle ball. It is difficult to give more precise definition of these grasps.

In case of a simple grasp, when the handle of a kettle ball is between a thumb and other fingers (like grasping a fork), it is impossible to turn the hand in the opposite direction. A thumb prevents it [Komarov, 2015, p. 104-111].

Results and discussion

During the interview among the respondents, who were kettlebell lifting coaches, and scientific-methodical literature analysis, we revealed that the grasp during kettle balls throw on a chest while fulfilling a long cycle push plays an important role for high results achievement.

The pedagogical experiment was organized on the basis of Saint-Petersburg Polytechnic University. The first and the second string of weightlifting combined team of the University took

part in the experiment.

A "locking grasp" differs form a "simple grasp". Forefinger and middle finger are on a thumb. In case of one-sided grasp all fingers are located close to each other. The grasp techniques differ from each other not only in fingers location on a handle of a kettle ball, but also in strength of holding the handle during lifting from the platform [Meshcheryakov, 2016, p. 262]. In order to define, which grasp is the most effective, we should consider the muscles. They help to realize the throw of a kettle ball, push of kettle balls from the chest. And the circumstances can provide the most effective power development [Pronin, 2021, p. 599-602].

During hands straightening with the kettle balls the movement is fulfilled in three joints - elbow joint, shoulder joint, knee-joint. Shoulder triceps locks out an elbow joint, shoulder movement upward is realized by the following muscles: the front part of deltoid muscle, greater pectoralis muscle, coracobrachial muscle, cowl muscle and serratus anterior (which turns a shoulder blade). However, the mentioned above muscles don't equally take part in shoulder lifting till a vertical position. Some lift the shoulder only till horizontal position and the others from horizontal position. Such cooperation in muscles work depends shoulder joint structure. The upper side of the shoulder bone ends in articular head. It is round, and its joint bed is a glenoid cavity. It seems that the head of humerus should turn in all directions without any limits. However, there is a tubercle near it, which sets against the acromion process during shoulder lifting till horizontal position. As a result further shoulder lifting can be realized only together with the shoulder blade. Thus, delts can take an active part in shoulder lifting only till horizontal position and their further work includes shoulder bone holding against the shoulder blade. From the horizontal position shoulder lifting is realized by the muscles. They rotate the shoulder blade. The strength of all mentioned above muscles of an elbow and shoulder joints is not equal. That is why it is important to distribute the load equally, or some muscles would work at a maximal rate in unfavorable for them conditions and the others would have favorable conditions and wouldn't be able to demonstrate maximal strength because of other muscles overload [Pronin, 2022, p. 344-346].

Thus, for elbow joint extensors favorable conditions would be the angle of elbow joint increase and for the shoulder joint- shoulder lever decrease, it means the distance decrease between the hand and shoulder joint [Pronin, 2022, p. 35-36].

However, it is impossible to create eased conditions for all muscle groups at once. As eased conditions for one group of muscles complicate the conditions for other muscles.

It is necessary to balance the conditions of muscles work. They take part in movement, in a way that the sum of their useful efforts was the greatest. It is achieved by the corresponding grasp application.

However, all mentioned above doesn't mean that the chosen grasp should be constant one during the whole period of sports activity and can't be changed [Prontenko, 2017 p. 447]. It was revealed that in order to increase the effectiveness of sports results it is reasonable to use "locking grasp" of a kettle ball handle. It is proved by the experimental data in the table.

The success of kettle balls lifting mainly depends on the speed of weightlifter's body movement during the separate elements of a classical exercises fulfillment. It is especially important to be quick while squat stand under the kettle ball fulfillment.During the moment of a squat stand the strength of hands is not great and kettle balls continue to move owing to inertia. It is important to decrease time of unsupported position during legs location and timely create a steady support for kettle ball holding on a chest or on straightened up hands. Moreover, in case of quicker tempo we need stronger repulsion. It helps to lift great weight [Wilmore, 2007 p.592].

Conclusion

It was revealed that it is reasonable for a weightlifter to use a "locking grasp". This circumstance should be taken into account by athletes and when choosing a grasp, the characteristics of their own physical development should be considered. The standard grasp can't be used constantly, as during training with the use of a number of special additional exercises, the ratio in hands muscles development may change. It must be taken into account and the grasp should be changed according to the strength of hands muscles development.
