Актуализация понятийных признаков концепта star в английской лингвокультуре

Аннотация: Рассматриваются понятийные признаки концепта star, характерные для концепта в английской языковой картине мира, выявляется специфика его репрезентации, отражающей особенности национального сознания носителей английского языка. Для описания особенностей структуры концепта были проанализированы словарные статьи, устойчивые выражения и синонимы. Анализ позволил выделить 17 понятийных признаков: светящееся тело, видимое на небе ночью; неподвижная светящаяся точка; огненный газовый шар, излучающий собственный свет; планета; судьба; гороскоп; знаменитость; исполнитель главной роли в фильме / пьесе; чрезвычайно успешный человек в группе; предмет или форма; фигура; знак различия военнослужащих; звездообразный орнамент или медаль, носимая как знак чести, авторитета; классификация гостиниц; белое пятно на лбу лошади или другого животного; морская звезда; астериск. Когнитивные признаки светящееся тело, видимое на небе ночью, судьба и белое пятно на лбу лошади или другого животного восходят к мотивирующим, что указывает на давность их появления в языке. Изучение способов сочетаемости английской лексемы star указывает на признаки, появившиеся относительно недавно в процессе развития английского языкового сознания. Языковым материалом послужили примеры из произведений классической английской литературы, включенные в Британский Национальный корпус. Анализ актуализации значений слова-репрезентанта исследуемого концепта в предложениях и их сопоставление между собой показали, что понятийные признаки соответствуют данным толковых словарей.

Введение
На современном этапе развития этнолингвистики исследование концептов не теряет своей актуальности в силу необходимости уточнения и расширения лингвокультурных представлений в рамках языковой картины мира. Понятие концепта достаточно широко разработано в лингвистике. Существует множество определений данного термина [1-5]. С. Г. Воркачев, обобщая все точки зрения на концепт и разные его определения в лингвистике, приходит к заключению, что это единица коллективного знания / сознания (отправляющая к высшим духовным ценностям), имеющая языковое выражение и отмеченная этнокультурной спецификой. По существу, единственным лингвокуль-турологическим основанием терминологизации лексемы концепт является потребность в этнокультурной авторизации семантических единиц - соотнесении их с языковой личностью. С. Г. Воркачев приводит свое определение: концепт - это культурно отмеченный вербализованный смысл, представленный в плане выражения целым рядом своих
языковых реализаций, образующих соответствующую лексико-семантическую парадигму [6, с. 47]. Изучение глубинных основ языковой картины мира позволяет по-новому взглянуть на языки иной лингвокультуры.
Концепты небесного мира становятся объектами многих исследований. Анализу концепта звезда в русской культуре посвящены работы М. В. Пименовой [7-9], М. Н. Пироговой [10], О. В. Ланской [11], С. Е. Баркан [12], Т. Т. Т. Нгуен [13], М. Л. Поповой [14]; в сопоставительном аспекте отдельные группы признаков в русской и английской концептосферах звезда и star описаны Е. В. Репьюк [15-18], А. А. Бакир овой [19-20], концепты звезда и étoile были рассмотрены в статьях А. А. Рольгайзер [21-24].
Постановка проблемы. Санкт-Петербургско-Кемеровская школа концептуальных исследований разработала методику концептуального анализа, по которой в структуре концепта выявляют базовую и образную части когнитивных признаков. Описание концептуальной структуры основывается на определении всех возможных когнитивных признаков,

входящих в эту структуру. В. В. Колесов отмечал: «признак - всегда образ, история каждого древнего слова и есть сгущение образов - исходных представлений - в законченное понятие о предмете» [25, с. 11].
Неметафорические и категориальные признаки составляют базовую часть структуры концепта. В первую группу входят мотивирующие и понятийные признаки. Мотивирующий признак по сути составляет «ядро будущего концепта, который в дальнейшем обрастет новыми признаками. Первоначальное развитие концептуальной структуры предполагает развитие образов на основе внутренней формы слова-репрезентанта концепта, то есть образные признаки концепта - следующий этап переосмысления мотивирующего признака» [8, с. 141].
На первом этапе исследования на основе дефиниций современных толковых словарей были выявлены следующие мотивирующие признаки концепта star по данным английских этимологических словарей: небесный (heavenly), тело (body), не включая Солнце и Луну (not including the Sun and Moon), распылитель или распространитель, рас-сеиватель света (strewer or spreader, or disperser of light), рассыпающий (sprinkling), сияние (sparkling), образовывать созвездие (constellate), рожденный под несчастливой звездой (born under unlucky star), несчастье (disaster), гибельный, бедственный, пагубный (disastrous) [20, с. 482].
В данной статье внимание обращено на актуальное содержание концепта в английской языковой картине мира, т. е. ту часть смысла, которая «актуально существует для всех пользующихся данным языком (языком данной культуры) как средством взаимопонимания и общения» [5, с. 4]. Другими словами, делается попытка выделить понятийные признаки рассматриваемого концепта.
Методы исследования. В работе используются методы компонентного анализа (выявляются понятийные признаки на базе анализа сем и семем языковой единицы-репрезентанта концепта) и концептуального анализа, разработанного Санкт-Петербургско-Кемеровской школой концептуальных исследований, заключающегося в выявлении пяти основных групп признаков, составляющих структуру концепта (мотивирующих, понятийных, категориальных, образных и символических); описательный метод. Языковым материалом послужили произведения классической английской литературы, включенные в Британский Национальный корпус1.
Результаты
Понятийные признаки актуализированы в словарных значениях в виде семантических компонентов (сем) слова-репрезентанта концепта [26, с. 314]. Актуальное значение слова-репрезентанта концепта star восстанавливается по данным дефиниций Merriam-Webster2, Lexico3, Macmillan dictionary4, Cambridge dictionary5, Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English6. Анализ дефиниций в представленных словарях позволил выделить 17 когнитивных признаков исследуемого концепта (табл.).
Ряды синонимов принято рассматривать как цепочку слов, связанных между собой семантически. В таком ряду каждая лексема отличается от остальных своим значением и в то же время имеет общий компонент с ними. В синонимическом ряду слов с общим компонентом star следует выделить слова, которые соответствуют понятийным признакам. Согласно словарю The Oxford Thesaurus7, данная лексема имеет две группы слов-синонимов, каждая из которых имеет свой оттенок значения:
♦ celestial or heavenly body; evening star, morning star, ailing star, shooting star, comet; nova, supernova;
♦ celebrity, personage, dignitary, VIP, name, somebody, luminary, leading light, leading man or woman or lady, lead, principal, diva, prima donna, hero, heroine, idol, superstar.
Лексема star в составе устойчивых выражений и идиом Someone's star is rising someone - becoming ever more successful or popular - становиться более успешным или популярным: But, nevertheless, we may say that as Lady Lufton sat that morning in her own room for two hours without employment, the star of Lucy Robarts was gradually rising in the firmament (Trollope A. Framley Parsonage). A rising star - восходящая звезда: Again Fiorsen bowed. "You may be proud of her," he said; "she is the rising star". "I was hearing of Daisy only to-day. She's quite a star now, isn't she?" (Galsworthy J. Beyond).
Reach (for) the stars - to set one's goals or ambitions very high; to try to attain or achieve something particularly difficult - ставить перед собой высокие цели или амбиции, попытаться достичь чего-то особенно сложного: Well for him that his lesser self kept firm hold upon the wheel or maybe a few broken spars, tossing upon the waves, would have been all that was left to tell of a promising young aviator who, on a summer night of June, had thought he could reach the stars (Jerome J. K. Malvina of Brittany).

Have stars in (one's) eyes - to have an overly idealistic or optimistic outlook, usually regarding one's hopes for success -иметь чрезмерно идеалистический или оптимистический взгляд, обычно касающийся надежд на успех: I doubt she'll actually become a famous actress - she just has stars in her eyes8.
Star in something - to be a featured actor in a play, movie, opera, etc. - быть актером первого плана в пьесе, фильме, опере и т. д.: Roger starred in an off-Broadway play last season. Mary always wanted to star in her own movie, but it was not to be9.
Сравнивая значения лексемы star, можно утверждать, что слово сохраняет свое исходное значение, а в выражениях принимает определённую эмоционально-экспрессивную семантику.
Понятийные признаки концепта star
1. Для объективации понятийного признака a luminous body visible in the sky at night - светящееся тело, видимое на небе ночью, - используются различные языковые средства. Звезды нередко именуются телами: I cannot see now the black dress and the servant's cap and apron. I see the wonderful, beautiful body shining through the darkness of my room, the glimmering of the white flower in the dark, the stars in the forest pool (Machen A. The Secret Glory), -которые светятся: Everything was black except the parallelogram of the blue skylight with the luminous dust of stars, against which the end of the telescope now appeared in silhouette (Wells H. G. The Stolen Bacillus and Other Incidents).
Признак свечения также актуализируется глаголами shine: They stepped out into the night. And now, without rain, the storm had passed away, and the stars were shining (Maugham S. The magician); gleam: The last red streaks had faded away in the west and night had settled upon the moor. A few faint stars were gleaming in a violet sky (Doyle A. C. The Hound of the Baskervilles); sparkle: All was dark and still no light glimmered in the windows, no wreath of smoke obscured the stars that sparkled above it in the frosty sky (Bronte A. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall); glint: The snug comfort of the close carriage on a cold though fine night, the pleasure of setting out

Для обозначения принадлежности звезд к небесным телам часто используются предложно-падежные конструкции in the sky : The stars in the sky were intensely bright and seemed to me to twinkle very little (Wells H. G. The Time Machine); in heaven: And the youth went home with the stars in heaven whirling fiercely about the blackness of his head, and his heart fierce, insistent, but fierce as if he felt something baulking him (Lawrence D. H. The Rainbow); in the spaces: Only high up in the great spaces star doth speak unto star... (Rider H. Haggard. Allan and the Ice Gods); in the firmament: Saying, Leander's joys are past and spent, Like stars extinguish'd in the firmament (Hood T. The Poetical Works of Thomas Hood). Небо в английском языке может обозначаться словом the blue: A few stars now had pierced the blue, and in the east there shone brightly a prolate moon (Wells H. G. The War in The Air). Используется выражение «небо, полное звезд»: The night was warmer than any night had ever been, the heavens by some miracle at once vaster and nearer, and spite of the great ivory-tinted moon that ruled the world, the sky was full of stars (Wells H. G. A Moonlight Fable) или указывается расположение звезд среди других небесных объектов. Это могут быть Луна: For the frost continued unbroken; the nights were of perfect stillness; the moon and stars blazed with the hard fixity of diamonds, and to the fine music of flute and trumpet the courtiers danced (Woolf V. 2. Следующий понятийный признак a fixed point of light - неподвижная светящаяся точка - актуализируется прилагательными fixed: "Go out of doors any clear night," continued Morgan, "andyou will see that commonplace wonder of our age - the stars that never rise or set, but are fixed motionless in the sky (Clarke A. C. The Fountains of Paradise); steady : The stars above our heads were dim and steady, Like eyes suffused with rapture (Coleridge S. T. The Complete Poetical Works of Samuel Taylor Coleridge); motionless: Bright and glimmering as the stars above their heads, lonely and motionless as they, it seemed to claim some kindred with the eternal lamps of Heaven, and to burn in fellowship with them (Dickens Ch. The Old Curiosity Shop). Эти точки не меняют своего положения: There was nothing that looked like an asteroid; all the images, even under the highest magnification, were dimensionlesspoints of light (Clarke A. C. A Space Odyssey). Звезды излучают ровный, постоянный свет: He was about to switch back to the regular news channel when, like an erupting nova, a star flashed out near the lower edge of the picture. For a moment Rajasinghe wondered if the capsule had exploded; then he saw that it was shining with a perfectly steady light (Clarke A. C. Fountains of Paradise). В силу

3. В научной картине мира звезды - это огненные газовые шары, излучающие собственный свет - hot balls of self luminuous (burning) gas: A star is like the Sun - a ball of fire -hot fiery gas (Stannard R. Black holes and Uncle Albert); Imagine some scientific inhabitant of one of the larger fixed stars examining us through a magnifying-glass as we examine ants... The ball of all sorts and sizes, from the marble to the pushball, would lead to endless scientific argument (Jerome J. K. The Angel and the Author, and Others). Взору людей звезды представляются в виде огня: It was his own soul going forth to experience, unfolding itself sin by sin, spreading abroad the bale - fire of its burning stars and folding back upon itself, fading slowly, quenching its own lights and fires (Joyce J. A Portrait оf the Artist as a Young Man).
4. Под влиянием научной картины мира звезды называют также planet - планетами: The educated of those days, with but few exceptions, believed in astrology, and the possibility of developing the future fate and fortunes of an individual, whenever the hour of his birth and the name of the star or planet under which he was born could be ascertained (Carleton W. The Evil Eye; Or, The Black Spector).
5. Понятийный признак fortune / destiny - судьба -связан с астрологией, с влиянием звезды или созвездий на судьбу человека (aplanet, constellation, or configuration regarded as influencing a person's fortunes or personality). Он достаточно частотен в индоевропейских языковых картинах мира, считается, что каждый человек рождается под определенной звездой: No, sure, my lord, my mother cried; but then there was a star danced, and under that was I born (Shakespeare W. Much Ado about Nothing). Можно родиться под счастливой звездой: Monsieur Parolles, you were born under a charitable star (Shakespeare W. All's Well That Ends Well); All others of her friends would certainly rejoice, would applaud her, pat her on the back, cover her with caresses, and tell her that she had been born under a happy star (Trollope A. He Knew he was Right) - или под несчастливой: He got into a bad way among us in London he had an unfortunate taste for gambling; and surely the fellow was born under an unlucky star, for he always lost thrice where he gained once (Bronte A. The Tenant o Wildfell Hall); No ... the splinters hurt too badly. If you can find an axe you might chop me out, though. Oh dear, I do really begin to believe that I was born under an ill-omened star (Montgomery L. M. Anne оf Avonlea).

У. Шекспир упоминает несчастные star-crossed "ill-fated" в «Ромео и Джульетте» (1592)10. Звёзды предопределяют судьбу каждого: Shall for my legacy be sanctified By the luckiest stars in heaven: and, would your honour. But give me leave to try success, I'ld venture The well-lost life of mine on his grace's cure By such a day and hour (Shakespeare W. All's Well That Ends Well); Providence has protected and cultured you, not only for your own sake, but I believe for Graham's. His star, too, was fortunate: to develop fully the best of his nature, a companion like you was needed: there you are, ready (Bronte Ch. Villette).
6. Когнитивный признак horoscope - гороскоп - актуален в современном английском языке. Люди верят, что по звездам можно прочесть судьбу / будущее: Yonder hermit is said to read the stars, too, an art generally practised in these lands, where the heavenly host was of yore the object of idolatry (Scott W. The Talisman); In vain we trust the Fair-one's eyes; In vain the sage explores the skies, To learn from stars his fate: 'Till, led by fancy wide astray, He finds no planet mark his way; Convinc'd and wife - too late (Lucan. An Address to the Deity).
7. Понятийный признак a famous and popular person -знаменитость - достаточно частотен. Существуют выражения признанная звезда: Thackeray had now become a personage, - one of the recognised stars of the literary heaven of the day (Trollope A. Thackeray), знаменитости Лондона: His dinner-parties - small in number, the viands rare and delicate in quality, and sent up to table by an Italian cook - should be such as even the London stars should notice with admiration (Gaskell E. A Dark Night's Work), восходящая звезда: Though the world did pet him, though he was liked at his club, and courted in the hunting-field, and loved at balls and archery meetings, and reputed by old men to be a rising star, he told himself that he was so maimed and mutilated as to be only half a man (Trollope A. The Prime Minister). Человек может быть известным в определенной сфере деятельности: how to accept everything her father gave her, without making him aware that his taste had no sense of the future; how to keep hold of Sibley Swan, the new literary star, and to get hold of Gurdon Minho, the old; of how Wilfrid Desert was getting too fond of her; of what was really her style in dress (Galsworthy J. A Modern Comedy). В современном английском языке можно встретить выражения rock star, sport star, pop star и т. д.
8. Понятийный признак main person in a film / play -исполнитель главной роли в фильме / пьесе - введен не прессой, как принято считать. Он был впервые зафиксирован в 1779 г. в книге о театре, где был дан отзыв о великом английском актере David Garrick: The little stars, who hid their diminished rays in his [Garrick's] presence, began to abuse him11. Звёзды - это актеры: And for two hours we sat and listened to a wicked-looking little woman who from the boards of a Bowery music-hall had worked her way up to the position of a star in musical comedy (Jerome J. K. They and I); The women in their girlhood made themselves look like variety theatre
stars, and settled down later into the types of beauty imagined by the previous generation of painters (Shaw B. Heartbreak House). С появлением кинематографа, вероятно, появилось выражение film star: Surely a New England village maiden might find herself among the wigwams in the power of the formidable and fiendish 'Little Blue Bison,' merely through her mistaken sympathy with his financial failure as a Film Star (Chesterton G. K. What I saw in America).
9. Для носителей английского языка актуален признак an outstandingly successful person in a group - чрезвычайно успешный человек в группе. Это может быть человек, отличившийся в семье, коллективе: Perhaps the most crushing memory of all was that which told her that she, who had through all her youth been regarded as a bright star in the family, had been the one person to bring a reproach upon the name of all these people who were so good to her (Trollope A. The Prime Minister); He had seen the dead hero but half a dozen times in his life: he had never been honoured by a word from him: but like every other naval officer, he had come to look up to Nelson as to the splendid particular star among commanders (QuillerCouch A. News from the Duchy). Очень распространенным является выражение a star pupil - выдающийся, звездный ученик: On the other hand, my little charmer..." Your...?" The one who put me in. Betty Maitland. My Betty, star pupil of the arts line at Bedfordshire Comprehensive. Such a sweet girl. Everybody said so (Barnard R. Little victims).
10. Признак an object or shape - предмет или форма -трактуется достаточно широко и связан с тем, что некоторые артефактные предметы сравниваются со звездами по признаку формы: But the most singular thing about him was that the front of his coat was covered with a multitude of shining metallic emblems made in the shape of stars and crescents (Chesterton G. K. What I saw in America).
11. Понятийный признак a figure - фигура - выражается словами, описывающими количество лучей у фигуры в форме звезды: Among the lace in the bosom of her dress was shining a five pointed star, made of eleven diamonds (Galsworthy J. The Forsyte Saga). Фигуры звезд встречаются в качестве изображения (нарисованного или вышитого) на тканях.
12. A sign of rank / position - звезда является знаком различия военнослужащих в различных государствах. В XVII и XVIII столетиях звание в британской армии определялось по качеству тесьмы и прочим особенностям отделки военной формы. Знаки различия старшего офицерского состава (майор, подполковник, полковник) впервые были введены в 1810 г. (носились на эполетах), а для капитанов и лейтенантов - в 1855 г. Эти знаки состояли (и состоят) из набора корон (crowns) и звезд (pips). Звездочки представляли собой стилизованное изображение Ордена Бани и применялись во всех британских полках. гвардия (Blues and Royals), Гренадерская гвардия (Grenadier Guards), Колдстримская гвардия (Coldstream Guards) и Валлийская гвардия (Welsh Guards) применяли в качестве звездочек стилизованное изображение Ордена Подвязки. Шотландская гвардия (Scots Guards) отдавала предпочтение Ордену Чертополоха, а Ирландская гвардия (Irish Guards) - ордену Св. Патрика. Изначально знаки различия носились на воротнике; в 1880 г. по случаю реорганизации системы корон и звездочек они перекочевали на погоны парадной формы для всего офицерского состава: For seeing one with ribands, black and blue, Stars, medals, and a bloody sword in hand, Addressing him in tones which seemd to thank, He recognised an officer of rank (Byron G. Довольно часто встречается выражение stars and garters, что относится к королевским почестям и наградам: Lords come up to my door with stars and garters, instead of poor artists with screws of tobacco in their pockets (Thackeray W. M. Vanity Fair). Этот понятийный признак зафиксирован в словарях, но не был обнаружен в исследуемом материале, что связано с употреблением его в технической и профессиональной литературе.
Заключение
Дефиниционный анализ и выявление понятийных признаков - неотъемлемая часть анализа концептуальной структуры. Анализ толкований лексемы star в указанных словарях позволяет говорить о полисемантичности репрезентанта концепта star. Слово star в английском языке приобретает новые значения, расширяя свой семантический диапазон. В настоящее время концепт star широко представлен в английской языковой картине мира. В результате исследования толкований, представленных в словарях, нами было выделено 17 понятийных признаков. Сравнение значений в определенных контекстах позволяет утверждать, что лексема star сохраняет свое исходную семантику, а в выражениях принимает более точную эмоциональную окраску. Часть понятийных признаков восходит к мотивирующим (a natural luminous body visible in the sky at night, fortune / destiny и a white patch on the forehead of a horse or other animal), что указывает на давность их появления в английском языке. Анализ актуализации значений слова-репрезентанта исследуемого концепта в предложениях и их сопоставление между собой показали, что понятийные признаки соответствуют данным толковых словарей.

Concept "Star" in English Linguaculture: Notional Features

Abstract: The article describes the notional features of the concept of star in the English worldview and focuses on those specifics of the representation of the concept that reveal the national consciousness of native English speakers. To describe the structure of the concept, the author analyzed dictionary articles, idioms, and synonyms. The analysis revealed 17 notional signs: a natural luminous body visible in the sky at night; a fixed point of light in the sky; hot balls of burning gas that emits its own light; a planet; fortune / destiny; horoscope; a celebrity; the main person in a film / play; an outstandingly successful person or thing in a group; an object or shape; a figure; a sign of rank / position; a star-shaped ornament or medal worn as a badge of honor or authority; classification of hotels; a white patch on the forehead of a horse or other animal; starfish; a sign of asterisk. The cognitive attributes "stellar body", "fortune / destiny", and "a white patch on the forehead of a horse or other animal" proved to go back to motivating features, which indicates their long-term presence in the language. However, a study of co-occurrence indicated relatively recent cognitive features. Examples were taken from classical English literature and the British National Corpus. A comparative analysis of the actualization of the meanings of the representative word in sentences showed that its conceptual features coincide with the data of explanatory dictionaries.
